Discover our history

Brothers Juan and Atilio Garibaldi founded the company Garibaldi S.A. in Santiago, specializing in cold steel lamination to supply small and medium-sized industries with products such as steel wool and laminated strapping.
1953
1955
Garibaldi begins producing the first medium-resistance steel straps to be used as a packaging method in different national industries.
The company installs the first steel strapping patenting (heat treatment) line in Chile, initiating the local manufacturing of high-resistance strapping, vital for export markets such as mining, the forestry sector, and the metalworking industry.
1972
1997
Garibaldi introduces Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) plastic strapping to the market, which provides high resistance and elongation in lashing tasks for medium-stress applications.
A new line of plastic straps is developed, this time made of polypropylene (PP). With this development, Garibaldi covers all strap specifications for packaging, whether for high, medium, or low stress.
2000
2010
The internationalization period of Garibaldi begins, opening its first commercial office and warehouses in Lima, Peru, mainly to serve the agro-export market of this country.
Garibaldi continues its internationalization strategy, this time in Mexico, where it opens commercial offices and warehouses in the state of Monterrey.
2014
2020
Seeking competitiveness and sustainability, Garibaldi invests in a plastic recycling line to supply its PET strap line. With this investment, Garibaldi transforms its production process into a circular economy chain.
Garibaldi USA was founded, located in Los Angeles, California. This allows the Canadian and United States markets to be served directly.
